Silica Systems builds Ardesia.
A small Swiss software company. Our work right now is one product, Ardesia, built fully. What comes after will come when this is ready.
How Ardesia came about.
Silica Systems is the company. Ardesia is the product. The slate is the metaphor: the office's work gets recorded, structured, and acted on — the marks on the slate are the work.
We started with one close working relationship — an office manager at a manufacturing company who agreed to let us watch the daily work, listen to the frustrations, and test ideas as they came up. He was not asking for AI, automation, or transformation. He was asking for one place to read the customer's message, find the quote it was about, and write the reply — without switching between four windows to do it.
That is what Ardesia is. The AI is part of it because it makes the obvious tasks — drafting quotes from a description, pulling the price you used last March, finding the customer relationship you half-remember — fast. It is not the point.
How we work as a company.
Beyond the product itself, four things shape how Silica operates.
We sell to the people who actually use the tool.
No procurement-tier sales motion. The decision-maker and the user are usually in the same conversation, and we like it that way.
We say what we don't do.
Ardesia has a defined scope. When we hit the edge of it, we say so — and recommend the systems that cover what we don't.
We write the software ourselves.
No reseller margins on someone else's product. The AI inside Argo runs on commercial APIs, but everything around it — the data model, the workflows, the rules — is ours.
We're small, and we mean to stay that way for a while.
The fastest way to ruin a focused product is to grow the team faster than the understanding. We add people when the work demands it, not when funding does.
Who we build with.
Ardesia takes shape against the daily work of real offices. The companies whose teams help us test, refine, and decide direction are partners, not just customers.
